The municipality has a history of mining that dates decades back. There is a general perception that the area is endowed with an abundance of mineral.

 		  

There are two nature reserves in the area namely, Maleboho nature reserve and Blouberg nature reserve.


 		  

Agriculture is one of the cornerstone of our economy. We pride ourselves with the Marula tree that is found in abundance in the area.
